There was an article in the Sunday Times which spoke about a new face on television that had started a new kind of programming. Until then no one had ever seen a fashion show on Indian television and it was only the selected few who were invited to shows who knew the concept of designers. Shivani anchored “Khoobsoorat” which marked the beginning of her anchoring career and the beginning of a new genre on television. Subsequently Shivani went on to do one of India’s first travel shows called “Namaste India”. Her ability to be at ease with people from all walks of life has allowed her to do diverse programming ranging from interview based breakfast shows to thought provoking fact based programmes.
